Earthquake in China August 8 kills 19

A magnitude 6.5 earthquake hit the central China city of Guangyuan in Sichuan province. killing at least 19 persons and injuring nearly 300, some seriously. Most of the victims were tourists visiting a nearby nature reserve. The shaking was felt as far away as Xian where the Terracotta warriors are located. 

There was property damage as well as power outages and telecommunications interruptions. An earthquake in Sichuan in 2008 killed 70,000 persons.
